Diversification is a smart way to build a business, but it can present an identity crisis for the evolving company. Mark Bowe, CEO of Lewisburg, West Virginia-based Antique Cabins and Barns, needed a logo for The Mountain Homestead Company, a new umbrella company that would incorporate his flagship business and several additional ventures.
The challenge for Bell Design Studio was to develop a visual representation of an enterprise that encompasses not only the recovery and restoration of 19th Century hand-hewn log and timber frame structures, but also land development, eco-friendly building and a partnership with Natural Element Homes.
“It is very hard to say who we are in a logo,” Bowe noted. “Erica came back to us on time with a lot of choices. In fact, the biggest problem in working with Erica was choosing from among her designs. That’s a great problem to have.”
