With two locations – one at the storied Greenbrier Resort and a new one in downtown Lewisburg—Studio 40, Inc. is a modern American craft gallery featuring some 100 different artists from all over the country, as well as a few locals. The Greenbrier location offers guests a wide range of wearable art and jewelry, while the Lewisburg gallery carries a variety of American handcrafted pottery, glass, furniture and wall art.

With the opening of the new gallery in Lewisburg, owner Mary Chappell realized it was time for a new look for her logo. Her existing brand mark had served her well, but she desired a fresher look – something more natural and sleek that reflected her gallery’s unique style. Plus, she wanted to tie both gallery locations together under one recognizable brand.

Drawing inspiration from the color scheme at the new Lewisburg retail store, Bell Design created a contemporary version of the well-recognized Studio 40 logo that reflects the overall style of the brand. The refreshed logo is reminiscent of the original and its trademark curly design, but with a sophisticated and more colorful flair.

“I wanted a happier look for both stores that would convey the feeling of ‘handmade’,” Chappell said. “The new logo does that, and I especially love the way that it translated beautifully onto the storefront window signs in the gallery. Throughout the process, Erica was extremely professional and efficient, and very fun to work with. Everyone loves it and we even have hang tags now for the first time ever!”
