The Crazy Baker he may be, but Hall Hitzig’s wild idea of operating a boutique bakery out of a converted kitchen cabinet factory in Renick, West Virginia , has gone from dream to successful enterprise in just a few short years. His luscious delicacies have been discovered by fans across the country thanks to savvy internet marketing.
When Richmond-based grocery chain Ukrop’s and several regional gourmet markets agreed to carry his premium granola, Hitzig decided it was time to upgrade the packaging, which at the time consisted of a self-designed label on a clear plastic bag.
Although he wanted a more professional look, he was not ready to make the investment in custom-printed packaging that must be produced in huge quantities in order to be cost efficient. Bell Design Studio provided the ideal solution. Erica Bell designed a classy, sassy printed front and back label for the clear bags to give the product a more polished and sophisticated appearance at a reasonable cost.
“Working with Erica was easy and she was really fast too,” Hitzig says. “The design is fantastic, and the response from consumers has been great.”
